FAQs

  • This is really depending on you, your needs, and your circumstances. Typically, I advise that clients in the initial phase of therapy meet weekly to build trust, work to discover the roots of your struggles, and build momentum toward caring for yourself. Twice monthly sessions are typically meant for clients in the maintenance phase of therapy. However, I get that circumstances, like time and finances, are necessary to factor into this determination.

We will discuss what your needs are during the consultation call and within that discussion, determine how often we will meet. While working together, you determine when to leave or pause therapy. I want you to trust what you need and are receiving from our work together.

  • Online therapy is a great option for many clients. Because a client can meet for a therapy session from the comfort of their home or office, they do not have to worry about scheduling extra time to commute to my office. It also allows me to work with people all over the state of Texas, regardless of proximity to Round Rock.

Online therapy is similar to a Zoom call: You receive a link to join the scheduled session on a secured platform, sign in, and wait for me to start the session. You do not need to download any software. You just need a reliable internet connection, a quiet, confidential space for you, and headphones for privacy.

  • On November 1, 2023, I will become an in-network provider with Aetna and Optum/United Healthcare. If you are interested in using your health insurance to pay for therapy, please contact me for a benefits check. For all other health insurance plans, I can provide Superbills for clients to submit for reimbursement for out-of-network benefits.

Please be aware that there may be several restrictions that health insurance providers place on coverage for mental health care. These may include pathologizing human experiences, requiring a mental health diagnosis that remains on a person’s health record and can later be used to deny coverage, and dictating how much care and for how long someone can receive care.

  • First, contact your health insurance provider to determine what out-of-network benefits are provided for mental health care, as well as their requirements for documentation (e.g. Does a diagnosis need to be provided?). Then, we will work together in session to complete the initial Superbill. Afterwards, you will receive Superbills automatically on a monthly basis. It is the client’s responsibility to submit Superbills to their health insurance plan for reimbursement.

  • I offer equity pricing for clients with limited income, especially for those who hold historically oppressed identities, and need financial assistance to access care. Proof of income is not required. The rate is mutually agreed upon during the consultation and I invite clients to revisit the topic of payment at any time. Reduced fee appointments are currently full. You are welcome to join the waitlist for equity pricing, request referrals for low-cost therapy in the Austin/Round Rock area, or visit sliding scale options for referrals.

  • Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, AMEX) &/or HSA/FSA cards. I ask that a back-up card is also provided for those clients wanting to use their HSA/FSA. There are times when the funds available do not fully cover the cost of a session and the system I use is not set up to split payment between multiple cards. Prior to using your HSA/FSA, please contact your provider to determine if those funds may be used for mental health care.

Unfortunately, I am unable to process payments through Apple Pay, Zelle, Venmo, or other similar platforms, as they do not meet HIPAA compliance requirements.

  • Per licensure guidelines for clinical social workers in Texas, as long as you are located somewhere in Texas at the time of our session, we can meet. Otherwise, we would need to reschedule for a time when you return to Texas.

  • I meet with clients in person on Mondays and virtually on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with lunchtime and early evening appointments available.

  • My office is located in downtown Round Rock, next door to the Woodbine Mansion between Main Street and East McNeil Road at 107 Lewis Street, Suite 130.

  • I do not offer walk-in/unscheduled sessions. Please contact me to schedule a session.

  • Yes, absolutely! I am open to working with people of all identities, however I specialize in supporting people in the BI&POC, LGBTQ+, and fat communities. If you do not identify with these communities, please expect that working with me means that our work will lean toward liberatory and anti-oppressive practices.
