Insurance

On November 1, 2023, I will become an in-network provider for Aetna and Optum/United Healthcare plans. Although there are several practices that many health insurance companies use that are not in alignment with how I practice, I acknowledge that using health insurance to pay for therapy is a necessity for some to access care. I welcome you to contact me if you have questions or would like for me to submit a benefits check to see if your health insurance benefits would pay for us to work together.

For all other insurance plans, I am considered an out-of-network provider. I can provide you with the paperwork, often called a Superbill, that you need to submit to your insurance plan for reimbursement. For additional information on this process, please contact your insurance provider.

**If you do plan to use health insurance to pay for therapy, please be informed of the following: There may be restrictions that health insurance providers place on coverage for mental health care. These can include pathologizing human experiences, requiring a mental health diagnosis that remains on your health record and can later be used to deny coverage, and dictating how much and for how long you can receive care. Please contact your insurance provider to make sure you understand what your healthcare plan covers, the restrictions, and the requirements for coverage of mental health care.**

Equity Pricing

I offer equity pricing for clients with limited income, especially for those who hold historically oppressed identities, and need financial assistance to access care. Proof of income is not required. The rate is mutually agreed upon during the consultation and I invite clients to revisit the topic of payment at any time. Please keep in mind your own personal financial experiences and level of privilege when determining if equity pricing is for you. I invite you to visit this graphic created by Alexis J. Cunningfolk that details equity pricing and where to place yourself based on your circumstances.

Equity Pricing:

Tier 1: $125

Tier 2: $100

Tier 3: $75

Reduced fee appointments are currently full.

Payment

Payment is due at the time of service. I accept credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, AMEX) &/or HSA/FSA cards. For those clients wanting to use their HSA/FSA, I ask that a back-up card is also provided. There are times when the funds available do not fully cover the cost of a session and the system I use is not set up to split payment between multiple cards. Prior to using your HSA/FSA, please contact your provider to determine if those funds may be used for mental health care.
